Know Your Meat
Did you know there are different grades of meat?
The higher the grade the more marbling - and more marbling means more flavor.
Meat prepared by a butcher is better than meat prepared by a machine - plain and simple.
Meat has to be frozen to safely ship. Our proprietary flash freezing process freezes meat in as little as 4 hours and ensures maximum flavor retention compared to conventional freezing methods.
Erie box made it to Riverview, Florida!! We are gonna have a VERY Merry Christmas now!! Thanks for making these a “thing!” My Erie belly is very happy tonight!!
Went there for the 1st time last week. OMG Polish sausage is to die for. City Chicken that actually is veal and pork, yum! Bought the meatloaf mix which is beef, pork and veal, have yet to try it, but am confident it will be delish. Need to try the ox roast, have heard rave reviews about it. I'll definitely be back and will spread the word. Why did I not know about this awesome market?
Living in Florida for the last few years, we are desperately missing "Erie food." Hats off to Gordon's Meats for coming up with the Erie Box and providing an awesome service! As soon as we opened the box, we could taste the deliciousness!
Not very often can you find a meat market that has quality and a quantity of superb meat choices. At this family store the prices are comparable to a supermarket but the people and the quality is what beats ANY supermarket in town.
I tried the premium pork chops today. I will admit I didn’t think they could be as good as they said. Boy, was I wrong! I made them in my Instant Pot and they were FANTASTIC! The best pork chop I ever ate. The store looks great! Job well done😀
Founded in Erie, PA in 1980 by Gordon Wunch - Gordon's has served Northwest Pennsylvania with quality meat and deli products for over 40 years.
In 1990 Gordon sold the business to local butcher Alex Ruban. Alex and his wife Donna fulfilled Gordon's vision of a quality neighborhood butcher shop for 30 years. They developed Gordon's Famous products such as City Chicken, Ox Roast, Sausage, and of course Handcut Steaks.
The Ruban's retired in 2020 and sold the business to the Bohrer and Markley families who believe there is a difference when it comes to the quality of meat a butcher shop provides. They will be using their logistics experience to make Gordon's products available to the world.
